If you are working in a commercial operation that requires meeting local codes, please check with the appropriate code authorities before ordering or using them. Most small fund raising events do not prohibit using them, but check with the organizers to see for sure. Also be aware that they should be connected individually to one 120 Volt electric outlet as they use 1200 Watts of electricity each.

Here's a basic starter kit that you can either use as a easy way to make funnel cakes at home, or to be used as a way to make cakes for your baseball, football games, Church fund raising, or any other small fund raising event you may want to do. If you sell the cakes for as little as $3.00 each using the mix included, you'll get your cost of investment back on this kit and make some profit as well.

We have used this same little kit to make funnel cakes at some local department stores for The March of Dimes and other charity groups. We use this same kit when we can't get 220 electric service at any event and have sold over a thousand dollars worth of cakes in a day this way (we do use 2 of the fry daddy's on the table if it's a faster paced event). Set this up on a table top and you're in business.

You don't need a pouring pitcher, a simple measuring cup to pour from is all you need. This video was made using a regular fryer, but it illustrates that you don't need a regular pouring pitcher to make funnel cakes. To see the demonstration video on how to do it:

This identical funnel cake kit is still used by us personally to do small fund raising events where the volume is not like a county fair or festival where high production is absolutely necessary. This is in no way represented to be a commercial method of doing funnel cakes. We do supply some restaurants mix that use one of these set up in their kitchen to prepare individual desserts to their customers, but not at high volume. This funnel cake kit is intended for those who need an economical way to get started on a small scale at local sporting or other small fund raising events in their area.
